100 themes.

Mon Jun 15, 2009, 9:16 PM
I need something to keep me occupied this summer, and I'm just probably gonna write the whole time anyway. So I feel like doing this. My goal is to be finished before the year ends. Why so long? I find that I can never churn out poems right after I just finished one. It takes me awhile to be inspired and for the whole process to result in a finished work. That's just my pace, I guess. I'm not really the type to force a poem out. Yes, I know I did that "small poem a day" in April, and I regret doing it. I felt so creatively drained after. I'm never doing it again.

I am Arman.

I enjoy writing poems, stories as well. I like to incorporate spacey/ethereal themes in my poems :)

I enjoy photography as well, but I consider it a side-hobby. I'd like to get a better camera. I'm currently stuck with a Cybershot.

I can't draw for crap, so I prefer going on DA and looking at some pretty drawings.

wow. I am completely awestruck by your gallery. Completely. Are you published anywhere? If not, I'd be surprised you haven't been snatched up yet, as you truly deserve to be.

Ah, I don't know about getting published. Well, getting my poetry published anyway, because a lot of my stuff is personal and the stuff I posted here is only a fraction of what I've written, because some of them I just don't feel like sharing.

amen to that. Good poetry's for the love and the need of it, not for the glory or for the fame. Just, well, kudos to you. I haven't been this moved by a body of poetry since the first time I read Dorothy Parker's 'Enough Rope' which left me completely breathless. You're good at what you do, and sometimes I think artists need to hear that what they're doing, what they're giving the world, is touching lives somewhere. :]

Wow, thank you so much. When I post my poetry on here, I really only imagine people giving them a quick look, and maybe adding them to their favorites if they like it, and moving on. But it's really humbling to know that someone out there has been impacted in such a way by the stuff I post. Thank you so much, and I really appreciate all the comments :)
